Cocopeat is a multi purpose hydroponic growing medium, that is very easy to use. Its high Air Filled Porosity (32 %), high Water Holding Capacity (55.8%), low Electrical Conductivity (<0.7mS/cm) and natural pH of 5.7 to 6.5, make it the ideal medium for all hydroponic plant growing applications. The 650g compressed cocopeat briquette expands on rehydration with water to give approximately 9 litres of cocopeat, while the 5kg block expands to around 55 litresof cocopeat.
Cocopeat is used for a wide range of hydroponic crop production throughout the world including: tomato, cucumber, egg plant, capsicum, zucchini, strawberry, melons, carnation, rose, gerbera, gypsophila, lisianthus, chrysanthemum etc. The presence of organic compounds in Cocopeat can stimulate root growth and offer some natural resistance to plant disease. The natural pH of 5.7 to 6.5, unusually high Cation Exchange Capacity and high Water Holding Capacity assures that medium will hold and release nutrients in solution over extended periods.
