Indole butyric acid, commonly referred to as IBA, is a plant hormone that stimulates root initiation and growth. It is the key active component in the product Clonex.

Clonex Green: active ingredient 1.5 g/L IBA for herbaceous and softwood cuttings

Clonex Purple: active ingredient 3.0 g/L IBA for semi-hardwood cuttings

Clonex Red: active ingredient 8.0 g/L IBA for hardwood cuttings

Which Clonex to use?

The type of cutting, whether it's softwood, semi-hardwood, etc., and the plant species, dictates the appropriate Clonex variant to use. Clonex Purple is generally the most popular and versatile choice. However, if callusing occurs without root formation, it suggests that the hormone concentration is too high, and a lower concentration should be utilized.
